Thanks to the Volkswagen Type 2 Owners Club, who have chosen Beat SCAD as their annual charity.
Stef Hrycyszyn, who had a SCAD in January 2025, proposed Beat SCAD as their charity for the year in May, and they’ve been raising money at various VW events since then.
Last weekend at Busfest in Malvern, the charity coordinator, Helen Hinchliffe, bagged some amazing donations to the raffle and auction from traders at the event. Club members not only donated raffle prizes but also bid on auction lots and bought raffle tickets in droves, to the tune of £610! A big thank you to the company Glawning who generously donated two tickets to Glampfest to the auction, and the glass art company, Inspired Glass, who donated a lovely piece of wall art. Stef’s daughter, Hannah, also hand made some keyrings and raised £27 to add to the pot.
Awareness raising was also part of the weekend. One club member kindly distributed charity information leaflets around the event. Stef said ‘I got to make a little speech before the raffle to tell a bit of my story and to explain where the money will go. Several club members took leaflets and I answered questions about SCAD over the weekend.’
Stef said ‘Massive thanks to the club members and committee (Helen especially) for their generosity and kindness.’
