SCAD patient Kathyrn raises awareness at networking event

SCAD patient Kathryn Seaward helped raise awareness by sharing her SCAD story at a recent network event

Thanks to Kathryn Seaward, who has helped raise awareness by sharing her SCAD story at a recent network event.

The Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid Women’s Network event, which focused on ‘Bias & Biology: Closing the Gender Gap in Women’s Health’, was hosted by Kathryn’s employer, Blake Morgan.

Mum of two young children, Kathryn told the audience she had had chest pain and numbness in her left arm and, after calling the emergency services, was taken to hospital. Tests revealed she’d had a heart attack – at the age of 36. After a long wait, she was told she’d had a SCAD and her journey back to physical and emotional fitness began.

In May 2024 Kathryn ran the Cardiff Bay 10K and raised more than £1200 for Beat SCAD – thank you Kathryn!
