Last year Beat SCAD invested in developing a new website, which launched in February this year and we are very pleased with the results in the first six months.
The website is an important tool to help us raise awareness of SCAD, support those affected and raise money for research. The new website is reaching more people, and engagement has increased, as they are visiting more pages compared to the old site. In June 2024, for instance, on average each visitor to the site viewed more than four pages, double that recorded in June 2023.
Comparing the figures for July 2023 with the same time in 2024, the number of individual users to the site has increased by around 50%, with page views doubling. The number of sessions (where users return to the site on the same day) has increased by 50%.
Many people find the site through Google searches and we are working with our web developers Eonic to identify which keywords are most commonly used and which questions searchers ask so that we can improve search results and provide more people with the information they are looking for.
Dr David Adlam, Professor of Acute and Interventional Cardiology and UK SCAD research lead, said: “The Beat SCAD website is an incredible source of information highly valued by patients, their families and healthcare professionals in the UK and beyond. Knowledge helps patients come to terms with their diagnosis, understand their symptoms and treatment and hugely supports the processes of healing and recovery.”
Thanks again to Eonic for developing the site and continuing to work with us to improve it.
