Fireworks 500 swim raises more than £700 for Beat SCAD

SCAD patients raise money at open water night swim

SCAD patient Liz Hill raised nearly £600 by challenging herself and a friend to do a 500m open water night swim, followed by a fireworks display.

Natasha Walsh at T2 Events offered Beat SCAD some charity places for the Fireworks 500 swim on 5 November at Capernwray Dive Centre near Lancaster and Liz decided to enter. She had two heart attacks caused by SCAD in October 2015, when she was 32. She said on her Just Giving page it was a confusing and scary time for her as there wasn’t much information around.

A friend of Natasha, Bob Hudson, also challenged his swim group Adventure Swim to raise funds for Beat SCAD and they raised £165.

Natasha, who also had a SCAD, organised a Santa Swim last year to raise money for Beat

Thanks to Liz, Bob and Natasha for their wonderful fundraising – and good luck to everyone doing the Santa Swim!
